North Carolina Governor Calls Hillary Clinton’s LGBT Advocacy “Politically Correct And Extreme”

Clinton said "discrimination is not only wrong, it’s bad for business."

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory called Hillary Clinton’s LGBT advocacy a “dangerous…politically correct and extreme agenda” in an aggressive press release posted to his website yesterday.

Clinton spoke at a rally in Charlotte and slammed McCrory’s anti-trans HB2, an unconstitutional bill that bars transgender people from using restrooms that match their gender identity.

“HB2 is another example of trying to discriminate against people that doesn’t have any place in our modern society,” Clinton told hundreds of enthusiastic supporters packed into the Johnson C. Smith University gymnasium.

Clinton also acknowledged the businesses that have pulled jobs and revenue out of the state in response to the bill.

“You see this first-hand in North Carolina. Discrimination is not only wrong, it’s bad for business. The NBA, you know, canceled the game,” she said, referring to next February’s All-Star game.
“PayPal canceled 400 jobs. Others are not coming to this beautiful state. Because they don’t want to be associated with the discriminatory, bigoted policies of your governor and legislature. And what you have to do about it is change your governor and change one of your senators. We’re going to need reinforcements up in Washington.”

McCrory has already spent hundreds of thousands in taxpayer dollars trying to defend the anti-trans bill, and recently launched an attack ad against transgender children, claiming they endanger the “privacy and safety” of other children.

“Hillary Clinton has lied to the FBI and has lied to the American people,” McCrory claimed in the press release. “Now she is using [Attorney General] Roy Cooper’s lies to distort the truth about North Carolina’s growing economy, rising teacher pay and common sense values shared by millions of Americans. The Clinton-Cooper extreme agenda is not only wrong for North Carolina and America, it’s dangerous.”
