World leaders will be meeting in New York City today for their annual off-site and will walk down the rainbow crosswalk as a reminder of the importance of LGBT rights.
Historic day: in show of support for #LGBTI rights,
rainbow crosswalk #Path2Equality unveiled in front of @UN.
The crosswalk was painted by the LGBT Core Group, a cross-regional UN group that works towards the advancement of LGBT rights, and leads up to the UN building on 46th street.
Dubbed the #path2equality, the rainbow walkway is meant to serve as a symbol of the LGBT community’s struggle to achieve equal rights.
RT UKUN_NewYork:
The #Path2Equality now runs across 1st Avenue.
