A new ad from HRC is highlighting the dangers of Trump's recent remarks.
Donald Trump declared during a debate against Hillary Clinton that he
greatly admired late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and that he’d
appoint judges with similar views if he were to be elected president.
Scalia, who died in February, was vehemently against LGBT rights, and Human Rights Campaign has just released a video detailing the dangers of having someone with similar views replace his seat on the court.
Scalia compared gay people to murderers in the past, and the new ad features a quote from the homophobic judge that helps to highlight why appointing judges “very much in the mold of Justice Scalia” is so detrimental to the LGBT community.

“Many Americans do not want persons who openly engage in homosexual
conduct to be partners in their business, teachers in their children’s
schools or boarders in their home,” Scalia says in the video. “Certain
forms of sexual behavior are immoral and unacceptable.”
HRC President Chad Griffin released a statement denouncing Trump’s “dangerous and hateful vision for our Supreme Court,” urging us to vote for Clinton instead.
“The future of the Supreme Court is at stake in this election, and we cannot allow Donald Trump to nominate a new generation of anti-LGBTQ judges who would perpetuate Justice Scalia’s legacy of discrimination,” Griffin said. “Hillary Clinton has long been a champion for the LGBTQ community and is the only candidate in this race who would ensure that the Supreme Court continues its historic progress securing equality for all Americans.”
