There were times when HIV would conjure up images of the Grim Reaper
in even the most optimistic among us but thankfully, with today’s
treatments, you’re more likely to be in it for the long-haul. The
reality is that a diagnosis of HIV is far from being a death sentence.

Panti Bliss said “If you are living with HIV you should know that it may speed up the ageing process BUT that we can age gracefully! We, HIV positive people, are more likely than HIV negative people to be affected by certain illnesses such as heart disease and some cancers, or affected by them earlier – knowing this means we can prepare.”
The My HIV, My Rules, My Journey campaign is encouraging
people to take charge of their HIV journey and be aware how the
decisions they make today may affect their future. “As long as you’re
making informed decisions and in consultation with your doctor, there’s
no reason why you can’t be in control.”
Campaign events will be taking place across the UK where you
can go along and get information from HIV experts, financial advisors,
life coaches and relationship experts. It’s a great opportunity to get
involved with the campaign, learn more about how to live healthily with
HIV and meet like-minded people.
My HIV, My Journey, My Rules is supported by HIV and AIDS
support services Positively UK, The Sussex Beacon and George House
Trust. To learn more about the My HIV, My Journey, My Rules campaign,
