United Nations Group Sponsors Rainbow Crosswalk Outside UN During High-Level General Assembly Meetings

The world's leaders will take the #path2equality as they enter the UN building.

A crosswalk leading to the United Nations complex has been painted the colors of the rainbow by the LGBT Core Group just in time for the UN General Assembly high-level week.

World leaders will be meeting in New York City today for their annual off-site and will walk down the rainbow crosswalk as a reminder of the importance of LGBT rights.

The crosswalk was painted by the LGBT Core Group, a cross-regional UN group that works towards the advancement of LGBT rights, and leads up to the UN building on 46th street.

Dubbed the #path2equality, the rainbow walkway is meant to serve as a symbol of the LGBT community’s struggle to achieve equal rights.
