The movie star's parents were worried about his obsession with bodybuilders.

Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that his parents were so worried that
their son was gay while he was growing up that he was sent to a special
doctor and was even beaten because of it.
The former politician said his bedroom walls were plastered with posters of bodybuilders when he was a teen, leading his parents to assume he was attracted to the men, rather than simply inspired by them.
“He ran after me with a belt and beat me,” the actor said about his father.
As for his mother, Schwarzenegger said he wasn’t sure if she truly thought he was gay or if she was just worried that “there was something off,” and so she decided to look for outward help.
“She asked the doctor, ’Can you help me? I don’t know if there’s something wrong with my son because his wall is full of naked men. All of Arnold’s friends have pictures of girls above their bed. And Arnold has no girls,'” the Terminator star remembered.
Although Schwarzenegger originally vetoed same-sex marriage during his time as the governor of California, his views on the subject have evolved.
Most recently, he urged his fellow Republicans to reconsider their feelings towards the LGBT community or risk losing votes.
“If the Republican Party wants the next generation of voters to listen to our ideas and solutions to real problems, we must be an inclusive and open party, not a party of divisions,” he said.
